New EU Project Launches to Boost Intellectual Asset Management in Research Institutions

A new EU-funded initiative, IAM4RE.eu (Intellectual Asset Management for Research and Entrepreneurship), is set to transform how public research organisations (PROs) and academic institutions approach innovation and entrepreneurship. This 24-month project focuses on improving the recognition, management, and valorisation of intellectual assets (IA)—an area many institutions still struggle to fully harness.

Spearheaded by a robust European consortium, including META Group SRL (Coordinator), EURICE, RISE, ASTP, the University of Belgrade, the University of Vilnius, Trust-IT, and Commpla, the IAM4RE.eu project aims to align research institutions and their spin-offs with EU policy frameworks and best practices.

At the heart of IAM4RE.eu is a drive to standardise intellectual asset management (IAM) processes across Europe, contributing to key EU priorities like open science, sustainable innovation, and maximising the impact of publicly funded research. The project also supports broader goals of the European Research Area (ERA) and complements initiatives such as the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).

Funded under the HORIZON.2.4 – Digital, Industry and Space programme, IAM4RE.eu is a Coordination and Support Action (CSA) that brings new momentum to the way research institutions manage their intangible assets.
