BRUSSELS - A major new learning resource for Europe’s research and innovation community is about to go live. On 21 January 2026, the IAM4RE.eu project will officially release its Training Suite, a structured collection of modules designed to strengthen skills in knowledge valorisation and standardisation. A public launch webinar will follow on 28 January 2026 from 10:00 to 11:00, offering participants a first look at the platform and the chance to meet the experts behind it.

Positioned as the central capacity-building tool of the IAM4RE project (Intellectual Asset Management for Research and Entrepreneurship), the Training Suite represents a significant step towards improving how intellectual assets, ranging from data and software to patents, are managed and translated into societal benefit.

A New Learning Resource for a Changing Landscape

At the heart of the Training Suite lies a clear ambition: to provide a practical, coherent, and adaptable framework for anyone involved in turning research results into impact. The suite provides twelve expert-led modules, each designed around a concise 60-minute online format.

The modules are organised into three tiers, Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced, reflecting an increasing level of autonomy. Participants can begin with foundational awareness before moving towards application and, ultimately, strategic leadership in knowledge valorisation and intellectual asset management.

Topics include IA management, licensing, entrepreneurship, ethics, project management, and data analytics. To support deeper engagement, the suite is complemented by a set of eight micro-resources, among them case studies, how-to guides, assessment tools, and checklists.

The Training Suite has been developed as part of a new publication from the project “Knowledge Valorisation and Standardisation Training Suite” which sets out the project’s pedagogical framework, content structure, and supporting materials in a single consolidated resource

Designed to Address Europe’s Capacity Gaps

The Training Suite arrives at a moment when European institutions are placing renewed emphasis on knowledge valorisation. Its design reflects the priorities set out in key policy documents, the 2022 Council Recommendation on the Guiding Principles for Knowledge Valorisation and the 2023 Codes of Practice relating to intellectual asset management and standardisation in the European Research Area.

It also responds to challenges identified through the IAM4RE needs assessment, which revealed persistent gaps across the research sector. These included a limited understanding of standardisation processes, a lack of structured progression pathways, and the under-representation of non-patent assets such as software and data. The Training Suite has been purpose-built to address these shortcomings and support stronger, more consistent practices across Europe.

A Resource for the Entire Research and Innovation Ecosystem

The Training Suite is intended for a broad audience within the European research and innovation landscape. Researchers, technology and knowledge transfer officers (TTOs & KTOs), innovation managers, and research support professionals will find material tailored to their needs. Institutional leaders and decision-makers in public research organisations and universities are also expected to benefit, particularly from the advanced modules. The framework is equally accessible to early-career researchers and students seeking to develop essential skills in valorisation and standardisation.

Launch Events and Next Steps

The official release of the Training Suite on 21 January 2026 will mark the culmination of extensive work carried out by IAM4RE partners and subject-matter experts. One week later, the kick-off webinar on 28 January 2026 (10:00–11:00 CET) will offer an interactive introduction to the resource. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the structure of the Suite, understand how the modules can be used in practice, and engage directly with the contributors who helped create the content.

Details on how to register and access the Training Suite will be shared shortly. The launch promises to be an important milestone for all those working to strengthen Europe’s capacity in knowledge valorisation and standardisation.
