How well are public research organisations and academic institutions across Europe managing their intellectual assets? Are they truly implementing the EU Codes of Practice on Intellectual Asset Management and Standardisation? And what skills or training are still missing to unlock the full potential of research results?
In this edition of Tea with ASTP, IAM4RE’s Knowledge Valorisation expert Hana Kosova will present the results of a Europe-wide landscape analysis that explores exactly these questions.
The study, conducted within the IAM4RE.eu project, examines how universities and research organisations manage and valorise intellectual assets—beyond patents alone—to include data, know-how, software, standard-essential knowledge, and other non-traditional forms of IP.
This session will give participants a clear understanding of:
- How aware are public research organisations of knowledge valorisation practices
- To what extent are they applying the new EU Codes of Practice
- Their level of engagement with standardisation
- The main capacity gaps and training needs faced by professionals in the field
- Key recommendations emerging from the IAM4RE analysis
Whether you work in technology transfer, research management, innovation policy, or as part of a research-performing organisation, this conversation offers practical insights to strengthen valorisation capacity in Europe.
