The 21ˢᵗ INSME Annual Meeting is taking place take place on 20–21 October 2025 in Alicante, Spain, under the theme “Protecting and Valuing SMEs’ Intangible Assets.” The event is organised in partnership with the European Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), Ideas Powered for Business and Alibaba.
In a world where ideas, knowledge, and reputation drive business success, this year’s meeting will explore how small and medium-sized enterprises can make the most of their intangible assets, from intellectual property and innovation to brand value and human capital. With global investment in intangibles now far outpacing tangible assets, the event will bring together international experts, policymakers, and business leaders to discuss the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities in protecting and leveraging these crucial resources.
The discussions will touch on the barriers SMEs face in valuing and financing their intangible assets, the need for better legal and financial frameworks, and emerging approaches such as IP-backed financing and blockchain for asset transparency. The goal: to help create a more supportive environment for innovation and sustainable growth across the SME landscape.
